This valley has rivers and crystalline streams between cascades and backwaters, their gorges, their exotic Caranday palms, offer a unique landscape in their type. |
 Salto Escondido
After crossing in vehicle 12 km from San Francisco, Roundup of the Hens is arrived at the called place (1000 msnm). From now on a long walk begins that includes approximately half an hour of reduction by a footpath until reaching the "Rio Hondo". The continuous passage following the course of the river and in this sections you can enjoy the nature in all it's splendor: imposing "farallones", rocks, and forests of native flora. After 3 hours you arrive at this beautiful cascade with a jump of almost 70 meters of height.
Advice: Good physical state is required. It is important to count on good footwear, long and comfortable trousers, and a light knapsack. In addition it is advisable to take light food (sandwichs, fruits, etc). There are steps where rope for greater security is due to use.

Cascadas del Río Gómez
At 5 km and only 10 minutes of San Francisco, it is arrived at River Gomez, a colorful place, with much history, from this place begins the long walk, through a footpath hidden between forests of "molle", this way crosses several times the River, as one goes into a beautiful gorge. After 4 hours of long walk it is arrived at a series of cascades located between great rocky crags and forests, this zone represents jungle vestiges, it's ferns, marshes and dense woods populated by a great variety of native birds.
Advice: It is important to have good physical state and many desire to walk, the excursion approximately includes a total time of 7 hours, is necessary to wear long trousers, a tent, a light knapsack, the food of the day (sandwich, fruits, etc. and a canteen).
